Qt event handling and bug #1575

I am the bug submitter. Some links:

Actually, I didn't know the last link up to now, and I follow(ed) the principle to tell, if I consumed an event. However, it should be passed on to the parent directly if it is not handled.

Bug #1575 describes a problem with Scintilla on Qt 5 caused by different handling of double click events between Qt 4.x and 5.x. The bug submitter proposes some #if QT_VERSION code which appears OK to me but also says that Scintilla should be accepting events it handles.
Can those more familiar with Qt please comment on whether events should be accepted?
