The Direct2D/DirectWrite mode for the Windows version of Scintilla can now display text with colour that is similar to GDI, by setting the gamma value to be the same as GDI. Previously, choosing Direct2D resulted in duller text. The change is performed when the text quality setting is SC_EFF_QUALITY_LCD_OPTIMIZED. Applications that want to retain the standard DirectWrite appearance may use the SC_EFF_QUALITY_DEFAULT setting.
The change relies on the GDI ClearType gamma setting being present in the registry, which will be the case if the ClearType Text Tuner from the Display control panel has been run.
